Public viewing areas for this year's Grand March. Students will exit through the main entrance, re-enter at the middle school entrance and go down the hall before exiting out the back door (please note change in case of inclement weather). The parking lot behind the high school will be closed off for parking on Saturday evening so that there is an area available for photo opportunities. If you would like to view the prom area, please enter through the doors by the high school band room. The link below supplies a map outlining the Grand March route.
Students traveled to Springfield, Missouri for a State Leadership Conference this past Sunday through Tuesday. The students represented Marceline very well while at the conference of over 4,000 attendees.
Our very own Haley Meissen walked away with a 5th place finish in Business Communication event at the state level. Back in February Haley had placed first in District 3 to move on for the state competition. Here she placed 5th out of 101 competitors and walked on stage to receive her medal!
Also Enzo Anthony finished in 6th place in Business Math at the state level. In February as well Enzo took 1st at the District event and here he took 6th out of 104 competitors from all around the state.
These students did a remarkable job competing as well as attending workshops, seminars, general sessions, and a Springfield Cardinals baseball game! If you happen to see these students please congratulate them on their hard work.
Several band students did very well in the recent District Solo/Ensemble contest. Brandon Swanson performed a tuba solo and received a 3; a woodwind quartet of Delanie Smith, Emily Boone, Makenzy Nelson and Bailee Gerdes received a 2, and Michael Arnold (baritone) and Timmy Herring (trumpet), received a 1 rating and qualified for the state contest at the end of April, which will be held at Mizzou. Congratulations band members!
